Linebacker LeRoy Hill received a 12-month probation sentence today after pleading guilty for a possession charge stemming from a January 2009 incident that occured in Georgia.

Whether the N.F.L. will step in and hand out its own punishment is not clear at this point.

The National Football Post reports that the Jags and veteran defensive end Reggie Hayward have agreed on a deal:

The Jacksonville Jaguars have re-signed veteran defensive end Reggie Hayward, the team announced. Hayward visited with the St. Louis Rams before ultimately agreeing to terms with his old team. “I went big business,” Hayward told the Jaguars’ official Web site. “It was all right. I met with the St. Louis Rams. I flew around, met with a few organizations. There were definitely some looks out there. I favor Jacksonville. Do you really want to pick up and move? Do you really want to try to join another team and spark a new fire with another team or stay where you’re established? I’ve got some things I haven’t gotten done here, especially coming off that injury.” Hayward was sidelined last season with a broken ankle.

Cleveland Browns nose tackle  Shaun Rogers was arrested today at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.  It is rumored that Rogers was carrying a loaded gun. He was taken into custody at approximately 12:15.  Rogers recorded 4.5 sacks and 76 tackles last season. Stay tuned as more details become available.

The Redskins had better give him first class treatment, that's all I can say. They can't afford to alienate this prospect. The O-line needs him more than he needs them.
