| Coral bleaching on Chaweng Beach and reef Posted: 23 May 2010 04:38 AM PDT Coral bleaching on Chaweng Beach and reef Today I was diving on Chaweng Beach during Speciality Instructor Training (later more on this) and I noticed the coral bleaching on the reef at Chaweng's Beach. To be honest, I was shocked, despite hearing other people already reporting about this. For me it's the first time in 10 years that I witness this around my local dive sites like in Chaweng, local reports talk about Koh Tao and Pattaya also being affected by coral bleaching! The water temperature is really high, unusually high and this may be a big factor in the bleaching the coral endures now.
