Broncos GM Elway Tweets About Wanting to Keep Pro Bowl CB Bailey Posted: 17 Feb 2011 10:35 AM PST
The new Bronco boss says that despite him selling his home in Colorado, free agent cornerback Champ Bailey is a top priority for the teams offseason plans. Elway is remaining upbeat about the situation, stating it in a series of Tweets. He appeared to be trying to perform a little bit of damage control to calm down fans concerned about losing the 10-time Pro Bowl cornerback. “We’ve been working with Champ Bailey’s representative this week on a new contract, which is an important priority for us,” Elway wrote. “Our conversations have been constructive, and we’ll continue those talks in the hopes that we can reach an agreement. Champ’s an elite player who means a great deal to our entire organization and our fans. We want Champ to finish his Hall of Fame career as a Denver Bronco.” |
