HOF QB Dan Marino Says He’d Deal Carson Palmer for a Third-Round Pick Posted: 01 Apr 2011 08:33 PM PDT Hall of Fame Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino believes in current Dolphins quarterback, but wouldn’t be opposed to the Dolphins trading for Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer. “I've always liked Carson,” Marino said according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. “For a third-rounder, I would do it.” Miami’s third-round pick is the 15th in the round, and 79th overall. The Dolphins do not have a second-round pick in this year’s draft. Palmer has spent eight seasons with the Bengals, who chose him with the first overall pick of the 2003 NFL Draft. After sitting behind Jon Kitna his rookie season, Palmer emerged as a Pro Bowl quarterback in 2005, leading the league with a 67.8% completion percentage and 32 touchdowns. Palmer returned to the pro Bowl in 2006, but was intercepted 20 times in 2007 and an elbow injury limited him to 4 games in 2008. |
Could the Seahawks Be Thinking of Drafting Arkansas QB Mallett? Posted: 01 Apr 2011 08:08 PM PDT Rob Rang of CBSSports reports the Seahawks will be flying in Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett to their team headquarters, according to a source. Seahawks’ General Manager John Schneider was at Mallett’s Pro Day workout which is believed to be the only Pro Day workout Schneider has attended so far this year. Secondly, the Seahawks could be in considerable need of a quarterback. Incumbent starter Matt Hasselbeck is scheduled for free agency. Head coach Pete Carroll said last week at the Owners’ Meetings that the Seahawks “made a run” at re-signing Hasselbeck prior to the lockout. |
Kris Jenkins Return to the Jets Unlikely Posted: 01 Apr 2011 07:46 PM PDT The Jets released Kris Jenkins earlier in the offseason and the speculation has been that he would resign with the team at a reduced salary later in the offseason. After the comments Jenkins made to NY Metro, those odds appear to be shrinking.
This news now makes defensive line a more pressing need for the Jets. Do they have to take Phil Taylor if he'sthere at #30 now? I don't know about have to, but it certainly makes a lot of sense. What do you guys think? Thing there's any chance Jenkins will still come back? Do you like Taylor as his replacement? |
