PADI, diving and Instructor Development (IDC)

Diving Gili Air, Indonesia; Oceans 5 house reef

As the name says, this is a local dive site literally just in front of PADI 5 Star IDD Resort Oceans 5 dive center on Gili Air where I just conducted an IDC.

The dive site is around the local harbor and the first thing you see when disembarking from a boat on Gili Air is Oceans 5! The site is easy to access, just a 10 meters walk from the shop and is easy to dive, fairly shallow and good for training and night dives but besides these conveniences, the site also has some great underwater life to explore and there were a few 'firsts' during my stay on Gili Air!

This dive I did with Simone and we completed the Instructor Underwater Naturalist specialty during this dive.

A real nice dive and easy and convenient and this was just the start for more interesting and exciting dives later during my stay. Posts with more pictures of the other sites will follow in due time, so stay tuned to this channel.

PADI Emergency Oxygen Instructor course on Gili Air, Indonesia with Oceans 5

Directly after completing the April PADI IDC with Oceans 5 on Gili Air, I conducted a PADI Emergency Oxygen Instructor course.

Besides Phil and the 3 girls of the IDC, we also had Ruben join us, a Spanish instructor who works on Gili Air.

It was all good fun and informative and soon I will write a piece and have some pictures of the local dives sites here and the Specialty Instructor training that we completed.
