Agent Says Two teams “Seriously Interested” in RB Tiki Barber Posted: 22 Jun 2011 08:36 PM PDT
“We feel like we already know where we’re going (to sign),” added the agent. The Giants have yet to release Barber, so there’s a bit of a gray area for tampering here. The agent insists his conversations with teams happened during draft weekend when the lockout was temporarily lifted. Opinion is split on Tiki’s return to the NFL. Some analysts believe he won’t even make a final roster while others think he can still be more than just a third-down back. |
Titans WR Kenny Britt Issues Statement Over Facebook Words Towards Goodell Posted: 22 Jun 2011 07:25 PM PDT
“I have the utmost respect for Commissioner Goodell, the NFL and the TN Titans,” Britt said. “The Facebook posting as reported was not made by myself nor have I given any statements to anyone regarding this matter. It is not a defense but a fact that this Facebook page and associated email account were hacked and reported more than 120 days ago.” Even if Mark Zuckerberg were the world’s biggest Titans fans and can vouch that Britt’s Facebook was hacked and remained unresolved for “more than 120 days”, seven scrapes with law enforcement over the past two years ensures that the 22-year-old will be on Goodell’s personal conduct policy violation radar screen when the lockout ends. |
Ravens Safety Ed Reed Still Not Back to Full Strength Posted: 22 Jun 2011 06:19 PM PDT
“I’m still not 100 percent, but I’m 100 percent mentally at this point as far as everything I can do,” Reed said on Tuesday. “I know my limitations; I still have a lot of work to do before the season starts.” Years’ worth of injuries, including a neck ailment, reportedly led Reed to contemplate retirement following the 2009 season. Reed underwent hip surgery last April which kept him on the physically unable to perform list through training camp and into October. In the six games Reed missed, the Ravens had five takeaways (three interceptions) and a -4 turnover differential on the season. Reed intercepted a pair of passes in his first game of the season, and would go on to lead the NFL with eight picks that led to a seventh Pro Bowl nod. With a ball-hawk like Reed back in the secondary, the Ravens created 22 takeaways over the final ten games and finished +7, which ranked ninth in the NFL. Reed will turn 33 on September 11th, the same day the Ravens are scheduled to open their 2011 regular season against the Steelers at M and T Bank Stadium. Whether or not Reed is in uniform or Reebok sideline gear will be something to keep an eye on this summer. |
Redskins QB Donovan McNabb Working Out with the Eagles Posted: 22 Jun 2011 05:10 PM PDT
According to the report, McNabb and a handful of his former teammates, including Trevor Laws, Jamaal Jackson, and Juqua Parker, did agility drills and weight training at Memorial Sports Complex in Marlton, New Jersey. "I'm just focused on working out; it's what I do in the offseason," McNabb told CSNPhilly.com. "So, working with a great group of guys. (The Power Train) guys did a wonderful job of preparing those guys. So, I was just looking forward to it.” In a normal offseason, division rivals working out with one another may raise an eyebrow or two, but the odds of McNabb remaining in the NFC East next season are slim. With players spread out all over the country, cross-pollination during lockout workous has been commonplace. Tennessee Titans linebacker Tim Shaw has been a frequent participant in Detroit Lions workouts, while Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate has been working out with Titans players in his native Nashville. |
